Senior Solutions Engineer – MSP & AI Automation

The Role

We are looking for a senior MSP generalist who is genuinely AI-forward. This is a hands-on engineering position with consulting capability—not a consulting position that happens to know technology and not a pure AI-development role. The right person can understand a customer’s business problem, work directly with the customer, collaborate with the FitNetworks team, develop a practical technical recommendation, execute the work, communicate progress, and finish what they own.

This person should be comfortable leading technical customer conversations independently while still knowing when to involve other engineers and leadership. Over time, the role may grow into broader technical leadership or technical account responsibilities based on capability and team needs.

We provide hands-on technology leadership, infrastructure, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, networking, systems, and project services. We are a small, highly involved team where senior engineers have meaningful ownership and direct customer impact.

What You’ll Do

• Own and execute senior-level MSP projects and escalations across Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint management, networking, firewalls, servers, virtualization, security, backup, and related infrastructure.
• Lead technical discovery, project, and solution conversations directly with customers and translate technical concepts into clear business language.
• Investigate customer requirements, develop recommendations, collaborate internally on the approach, and bring forward solutions that are substantially ready for approval and execution.
• Design and implement practical AI and automation solutions using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, ChatGPT/OpenAI technologies, Power Automate, agents, APIs, scripting, and related platforms.
• Identify business processes where AI or automation can create meaningful value—and recognize when a simpler deterministic solution is better.
• Manage technical dependencies, risks, scope, customer expectations, documentation, and project follow-through.
• Troubleshoot complex issues systematically and involve teammates appropriately without surrendering ownership.
• Mentor less-experienced technicians by teaching reasoning and helping them become more independent.
• Contribute to a collaborative technical culture built around confidence without ego, urgency without recklessness, and direct but respectful communication.

What We’re Looking For

• Approximately 5–7+ years of strong hands-on MSP experience supporting multiple client environments. Exceptional candidates with somewhat less experience may still be considered.
• Broad senior-level experience across Microsoft 365 / Entra / Intune / Defender, networking, firewalls, Windows Server / Active Directory, and security.
• Working knowledge of virtualization, backup/disaster recovery, and scripting/automation.
• Experience independently leading customer-facing technical conversations and project meetings.
• Proven project implementation experience—not just escalation support or advisory work.
• Practical AI/automation implementation experience in a real business environment. Daily use of ChatGPT or Copilot alone does not meet this requirement.
• Ability to move quickly, make sound decisions with incomplete information, avoid unnecessary overengineering, communicate blockers early, and finish work.
• Ability to disagree professionally with other strong technical people, receive feedback, ask for help appropriately, and support the final team decision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the judgment to know how much detail a customer or teammate actually needs.

AI & Automation Experience

At minimum, we are looking for an AI/automation implementer: someone who has built useful workflows, agents, integrations, or AI-assisted business processes used by others. Advanced experience with APIs, Azure OpenAI or other hosted LLM APIs, RAG/retrieval, Python, vector search, private/local LLMs, or custom applications is highly valued but does not replace strong MSP breadth, customer skills, or teamwork.
