Senior Network & Systems Engineer (Tier 3) - Juniper & VoIP

Job Description

Senior Network & Systems Engineer (Tier 3) - Juniper & VoIP

Total annual compensation package up to $130,000 for the full combined role.

Final compensation will reflect demonstrated expertise, agreed responsibilities, and whether the engagement is employment or contract work. The salary and any benefits, or the contract fee, will be agreed with the selected candidate within the overall package.

Aerux Broadband is seeking a hands-on senior engineer to maintain and operate our network, server, and voice services. This role brings together advanced Juniper operations, server maintenance, and VoIP troubleshooting. We need someone who can own complex technical issues, make careful changes, and keep services reliable.

What you will do

  • Operate, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Juniper network infrastructure.
  • Diagnose complex routing, switching, connectivity, and network performance problems.
  • Maintain server availability, performance, updates, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Verify backups, test recovery procedures, and restore services when systems fail.
  • Operate and troubleshoot VoIP services, including call quality, call routing, and connectivity issues.
  • Plan and implement infrastructure changes with testing, clear documentation, and rollback procedures.
  • Own Tier 3 technical escalations through resolution, document root causes, and prevent recurring problems.
  • Maintain network diagrams, configuration records, and practical runbooks; share knowledge so the team can support systems consistently.
  • Coordinate maintenance windows and incident response coverage according to the agreed work arrangement.

What you bring

  • Advanced, hands-on Juniper and Junos administration and troubleshooting skills, with real examples of complex problems you have resolved.
  • Strong routing, switching, and IP networking fundamentals, including routing policies, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
  • Practical experience maintaining production servers, diagnosing outages, and managing backups and recovery.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting VoIP services, with an understanding of SIP, RTP, and the network conditions that affect call quality.
  • Sound judgment in production environments, careful change management, and clear technical documentation.
  • Reliable communication, independent problem-solving, and ownership of results.

Helpful experience

Experience in an internet service provider or telecommunications environment, scripting or automation, and advanced Juniper certifications are welcome. Demonstrated hands-on expertise matters; equivalent practical experience is valued.

Location and work arrangement

Remote candidates are welcome, including applicants outside the United States. Candidates near Centennial, Colorado are also welcome. We will consider applicants based on demonstrated technical expertise, communication, and their ability to meet the role’s operational needs. Employment or contract arrangements, availability, maintenance coverage, and compensation will be discussed with candidates before an offer.

What success looks like

Reliable network, server, and voice services; well-managed maintenance; thorough resolution of complex incidents; and documentation that makes operations easier for the entire team.

How to apply

Submit your resume and briefly describe the Juniper, server, and VoIP environments you have personally supported. Include a non-confidential example of a difficult technical issue you resolved and tell us your preferred work arrangement and availability.

Application Question(s):

  • Please provide brief, non-confidential examples of your hands-on experience: (1) A complex Juniper network issue you diagnosed and resolved, including how you verified the result. (2) Server maintenance or recovery you owned, including how you protected data and managed downtime.
