Job Description
Custom Ink is so much more than a t-shirt company. We’re a team of creative individuals who empower our customers to create the perfect custom apparel for their groups through an innovative and easy-to-use website and at multiple store locations throughout the country. We are also committed to community, empathy, diversity, and equity. Our end goal is for all Inkers to feel a deep sense of belonging.
We are always looking for great people to join our team, and with locations and stores opening across the country, there are new opportunities all the time. Headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia with offices in Dallas, Texas; and Prague, Czech Republic, with 500+ team members across the world. We have both location-focused and work-from-home jobs.

- Reports to: User Experience Director
- Travel Expectations: Minimal travel; will be determined by business needs and may include occasional trips for key meetings, collaboration opportunities, or area-connected events.
- Physical Requirements/Demands: This is a primarily sedentary, home-based role that requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer. The role involves regular use of standard office equipment, such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Application Period Disclosure: We are accepting applications for this role on a rolling basis and will continue to do so until the position is filled. We encourage interested candidates to apply as soon as possible for full consideration.
What we’re looking for: We’re seeking a Senior UX Designer to drive engaging, user-centered experiences across our digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on contributor, a strong collaborator, and an advocate for intuitive, accessible design that enhances the customer journey.
- 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a focus on consumer-facing digital products
- Strong background in interaction design, visual design, and information architecture
- Experience with Design Systems, including scaling and maintaining component libraries
- Advanced Mastery in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent tools)
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end development best practices is a plus
- Strong ability to communicate complex interactive concepts to cross-functional teams
- Leverage AI to accelerate research, synthesis, and iteration — while keeping human judgment and user empathy at the center of every design decision.
- Portfolio showcasing user-centered, visually compelling designs and design rationale.
Who this role isn’t for:
- The Siloed Creator: If you prefer working in isolation or just want to take a highly prescriptive brief and execute it, this won’t be a fit. You will be expected to actively lead UX efforts and collaborate deeply with product managers and engineers from ideation to launch.
- The One-Off Designer: We rely on consistency and efficiency across our products. If you prefer crafting standalone visual masterpieces rather than advocating for systematic design and scaling component libraries, this environment might frustrate you.
- The “AI is the Output” Thinker: While we expect you to leverage AI to accelerate research and iteration, the final output requires human judgment and user empathy. This role isn’t for someone who treats AI-generated concepts as finished work
What you’ll do: As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll work with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to shape the customer experience across Custom Ink’s digital ecosystem.
- Lead UX design efforts from ideation through launch, collaborating with product managers and engineers
- Design and refine user journeys by translating research insights into intuitive, engaging experiences
- Develop and enhance our Design System, ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficiency across products
- Advocate for systematic designing, teaching best practices and fostering alignment with engi…
