Job Title: Product Owner / Product Analyst AI Store Operations We are seeking two experienced Product Owners/Product Analysts to support the discovery and requirements-gathering phase of a strategic initiative focused on developing an AI-powered tool to enhance store operations.

The initiative is expected to support multiple operational functions, including employee scheduling, zoning, task management, and related store processes. The selected consultants will partner with business stakeholders, technical teams, and operational leaders to document current-state processes, define business requirements, and prepare comprehensive project documentation ahead of the anticipated project kickoff in January 2027, pending approval.

The consultants will initially focus heavily on business analysis, requirements elicitation, process documentation, and stakeholder alignment. There may be an opportunity to continue into the product development and delivery phases for candidates interested in longer-term product ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders, store operations teams, technical experts, and IT partners.
• Document current-state business processes related to store scheduling, employee zoning, task management, and other operational workflows.
• Translate business needs into clear, detailed, and actionable business and functional requirements.
• Develop and maintain requirements documentation, process flows, business rules, use cases, and supporting project artifacts.
• Facilitate working sessions to identify business needs, operational challenges, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are complete, validated, and aligned with business objectives.
• Support the evaluation and definition of requirements for a future AI-powered store operations solution.
• Partner with the parallel workstream lead to ensure consistency and alignment across project deliverables.
• Maintain documentation throughout the discovery process, incorporating stakeholder feedback and ensuring materials remain accurate and up to date.
• Communicate project progress, outstanding questions, decisions, risks, and dependencies to project leadership.
• Support product planning, backlog development, prioritization, and delivery activities as the initiative progresses into implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a Product Owner, Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting complex business or technology initiatives.
• Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and cross-functional working sessions.
• Experience translating business processes into structured requirements and actionable deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, thorough, and well-organized documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across business and technical teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and drive requirements to completion.
• Comfort working in an evolving environment where the future technology platform and solution design have not yet been finalized.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail, store operations, or multi-location business environments.
• Exposure to artificial intelligence, AI-enabled applications, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience with workforce management, employee scheduling, task management, inventory, or store operations systems.
• Previous experience supporting mobile applications or operational technology platforms.
• Experience working in Agile product development environments.
• Ability and interest in transitioning from discovery and business analysis into ongoing product ownership and delivery.
