Job Description

WE ARE HIRING

St. Michael Advisory is growing again. We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Account Manager/Account Manager to join our expanding team in our new central London office.

We established St. Michael with a simple ambition: to build a different kind of advisory business. We bring together political insight, communications and strategy. We work with a brilliant roster of smart, creative and inspiring clients, across business, politics and campaigns.

We’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, whether in-house, an agency or as a parliamentary researcher. You’ll be comfortable working directly with clients, enjoy tackling problems and have a keen interest in current affairs, politics, and communications.

We’re growing quickly, but we’re still a start-up. That means everyone has to muck in, take responsibility and be prepared to turn their hand to different challenges. In return, you’ll have the freedom to develop your own ideas, take ownership of important work and help shape the business as it grows.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of client work, ensuring projects run smoothly and to a high standard.
  • Building relationships with clients, understanding their priorities and becoming a trusted point of contact.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop our work and bringing forward new ideas, projects and commissions.
  • Producing high-quality research, analysis and written materials informed by a strong understanding of the political, commercial and media environment.
  • Helping to win new business, contributing to proposals, pitches and the development of new services.
  • Playing an active role in building St. Michael Advisory as it continues to grow, contributing to the culture, direction and success of the business.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • At least a year’s relevant experience, ideally in an agency, in-house communications team or politics.
  • The confidence to build relationships, develop new contacts and work directly with clients.
  • Excellent writing and research skills, alongside sound judgement and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and willingness to take responsibility for work moving forward.
  • Initiative, creativity and an instinct to contribute ideas rather than simply follow instructions.
  • Intellectual curiosity, an interest in current affairs, a collaborative attitude, and all-round enthusiasm.

THE NUTS AND BOLTS

We offer a competitive base salary, tailored to what you bring. We pay discretionary bonuses and pride ourselves on a supportive and collaborative working environment (in a great spot.)

To apply, email us with your CV and just two paragraphs summarising where you’re at and what you bring, before Friday 30th October. Our door is open for provisional chats, feel free to DM.

The interview process will comprise initial sifting, a written test and an in-person interview.
