As our business expands, we’re looking for a motivated Telesales Assistant Manager to support the Telesales Manager in leading the team, developing customer accounts, and driving sales.
The Role
This is a hands-on role combining active selling with day-to-day team support. Working closely with the Telesales Manager, you’ll help organise daily sales activity, coach colleagues, and maintain a proactive, knowledgeable, and efficient service.
You’ll lead by example, managing your own sales activity while helping the wider team achieve its targets. You’ll also provide day-to-day leadership in the Telesales Manager’s absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Telesales Manager in organising, motivating, and supervising the telesales team.
- Lead by example through outbound sales calls, account development, and achievement of individual sales targets.
- Promote offers, introduce new products, and identify upselling opportunities across our frozen food and ice cream ranges.
- Handle inbound enquiries and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Help monitor daily sales activity and key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Provide practical coaching, feedback, and support to help colleagues improve sales performance and customer service.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and onboarding as the team grows.
- Work closely with warehouse and transport teams to ensure customer commitments reflect stock availability and delivery capacity.
- Review sales reports, seasonal trends, and customer buying patterns to identify opportunities for growth.
- Support the resolution of customer queries and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Help coordinate the team’s daily workload and maintain service standards in the Telesales Manager’s absence.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven telesales experience, ideally within wholesale, foodservice, or FMCG.
- Experience supporting, coaching, or supervising colleagues, or a strong sales record and readiness to take the next step into management.
- A confident, proactive approach to winning business and developing existing customer accounts.
- The ability to motivate others and set a positive example in a target-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence using CRM systems, order-processing systems, and sales reporting tools.
- The ability to work accurately and prioritise effectively in a busy, high-volume operation.
What We Offer
- Salary dependent on experience.
- Uncapped commission and performance-related incentives.
- Opportunities to develop your leadership skills and progress within a growing business.
- The opportunity to contribute to sales planning and team development.
- Supportive management and a collaborative working environment.
- Company pension.
- Employee discount.
- Free parking.
- WPA Health Care Top up
