About the Role

Coalition Technologies is seeking a Remote WordPress Developer to develop, customize, maintain, and optimize WordPress websites. The role requires strong technical knowledge of WordPress, custom themes and plugins, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and AJAX.

You will work on website development, platform migrations, plugin integrations, responsive layouts, and performance improvements. The position also involves translating design files into accurate web templates, maintaining cross-browser compatibility, and managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain WordPress websites.
• Build custom WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements.
• Migrate websites from other platforms to WordPress.
• Integrate and configure plugins, including WPML, WooCommerce, membership plugins, and similar tools.
• Develop WordPress websites that can be managed through the administrative dashboard.
• Optimize websites for page speed, performance, search engine optimization (SEO), and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
• Retrieve backend data using WPGraphQL or the WordPress REST API.
• Convert complex PSD designs into pixel-accurate HTML5 and CSS3 templates.
• Create responsive websites that work consistently across different browsers and devices.
• Use version control systems such as Git or SVN to manage development work.
• Optimize WordPress code and databases to improve website performance.
• Manage multiple projects and tasks while working within tight deadlines.
• Maintain accuracy, organization, and attention to detail throughout development.

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in WordPress development.
• Strong knowledge of the WordPress platform, architecture, custom theme development, and plugin development.
• Experience integrating WordPress plugins, including WooCommerce, WPML, membership plugins, and similar tools.
• Understanding of how to build websites that can be managed through the WordPress admin panel.
• Ability to optimize WordPress databases and code.
• Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and AJAX.
• Ability to work in a LAMP development environment.
• Experience retrieving WordPress backend data through WPGraphQL or the WordPress REST API.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Knowledge of W3C web standards, semantic HTML, and accessibility guidelines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• A positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to adapt to a diverse, multicultural remote work environment.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ReactJS or AngularJS.
• Experience working with BigCommerce, Magento, or Shopify.
• Experience developing with WooCommerce.
• Experience optimizing WordPress website performance.
• Experience implementing SEO and CRO best practices on WordPress websites.
• Experience converting PSD designs into responsive websites.
• Experience using Git or SVN for version control.

Location and Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote position. The role requires availability during the specified Pacific Time working hours and the ability to work effectively in a structured remote environment.

Salary and Benefits

For candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay ranges from $17 to $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and the seniority of the position offered. Candidates located outside these states may receive compensation outside the stated range.
