Senior WordPress Developer / Technical Lead

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior WordPress Developer who can take ownership of complex web development projects, lead a small team of developers, and deliver high-quality solutions for clients.

This role requires both strong technical expertise and project leadership skills. The ideal candidate should be comfortable building custom WordPress solutions from scratch, reviewing code, managing developers, and communicating technical requirements effectively.

Required Skills & Experience

WordPress Expertise

• 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience
• Strong experience with custom theme development
• Strong experience with custom plugin development
• Experience building complex WordPress solutions and integrations
• Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, actions, filters, and database structure
• Experience with WooCommerce customization and development
• Experience optimizing WordPress performance and security

Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge of PHP
• Strong JavaScript skills
• HTML5, CSS3, SCSS
• MySQL database management
• REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Git version control
• Server management and deployment workflows
• Debugging and troubleshooting complex issues

CMS Experience (Bonus)

Experience working with:

• Shopify
• Webflow
• Wix
• Squarespace
• Drupal
• Joomla
• Headless CMS platforms

Leadership & Project Management

• Experience leading and mentoring developers
• Ability to review code and maintain development standards
• Ability to break down projects into tasks and manage delivery timelines
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience working directly with clients and project managers
• Ability to identify risks and propose technical solutions
