Job Description
• $100–$400 per hour
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• Fully flexible schedule
Work on the cutting edge of AI research, on your own schedule, and get paid for the research judgment you already have.
The AI systems everyone talks about are trained and tested by real researchers. The teams building them need computer science and mathematical or computational physics researchers who can identify meaningful research questions, judge whether an AI’s proofs, algorithms and simulations are correct, write clear technical reports, and explain where the work falls short. Your judgment becomes part of how the next generation of AI models reasons about difficult technical problems. This is that work, done remotely around your current research or academic commitments.
What you’ll do
• Identify open problems, new bounds and research questions in computer science or computational and mathematical physics
• Use AI models and agents to attempt proofs and develop algorithms
• Verify proofs and reproduce numerical results, using formal tools when appropriate
• Compare findings with recent published research and write reports explaining the methods, results, challenges and promising next steps
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid $100–$400 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current research or academic work
• Work directly with frontier AI research tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most researchers in computer science and mathematical or computational physics will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping computer science and mathematical or computational physics research, and the people who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote, fully flexible, no minimum shift, no commute
Who this is for
• A late-stage PhD candidate, postdoctoral researcher or early-career academic in computer science or mathematical or computational physics
• Multiple papers at leading venues, or work addressing open problems and novel concepts
• Fluent English, technical skills in simulation, numerical analysis, algorithmic implementation and careful evaluation of research claims, plus a public research statement or homepage describing specific open problems under investigation
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $100–$400 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• Fully flexible schedule; fully remote, United States
