Job Description
• $80–$120 per hour equivalent, paid per accepted task
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• About 15 hours a week, you choose when
Work on the cutting edge of AI engineering, on your own schedule, and get paid for the aerodynamics expertise you already have.
The AI systems everyone is talking about are trained and tested by real engineering experts. The teams building them need aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics experts who can turn physical requirements into realistic simulation tasks, assess whether an AI-generated result behaves properly in computation and matches the physics, write the engineering answer a professional would give, and explain exactly where the model falls short. Your judgment becomes part of how the next generation of AI systems handles engineering problems. This is that work, done remotely around your current job.
What you’ll do
• Create solver-ready aerodynamic cases from physical requirements by defining the geometry, computational domain, and mesh
• Run computational fluid dynamics solvers from the command line and use Python for preprocessing, parameter sweeps and postprocessing
• Assess lift, drag and other simulation outputs for sound numerical behavior and agreement with the physics
• Describe the assumptions behind the model, the mesh approach and solver settings, then diagnose incorrect results or nonconvergence
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid the equivalent of $80–$120 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current job
• Work directly with frontier AI engineering tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics professionals will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics, and the people who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote, fully flexible, no minimum shift, no commute
Who this is for
• Qualify through graduate training in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering with a specialization in aerodynamics, fluid dynamics or thermofluids, or hold an undergraduate aerospace or mechanical engineering degree plus 1–2 years of professional or research experience focused specifically on aerospace
• Bring a solid command of fluid mechanics and practical experience in applied aerodynamics, along with experience formulating and running computational fluid dynamics or aerodynamic analyses
• Fluent in English, with practical Python skills and experience with at least one of these: a command-line tool, a scripting interface, a configuration-based tool, or a programmatic API
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $80–$120 per hour equivalent; pay is per accepted task, as an independent contractor
• About 15 hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States
