About the role

The Finance Manager plays a central role in Airmic’s financial operations, owning the transactional accounting cycle end-to-end while driving the modernisation of finance processes. The role combines strong financial control with a forward-looking remit: producing monthly management reporting, improving systems and ways of working, and ensuring Airmic’s finance function keeps pace with digital and AI-enabled tools. The Finance Manager is expected to exercise judgement, work with a good degree of autonomy, and act as a trusted point of contact for finance matters across the organisation.

This role is evolving as the business continues to modernise and streamline its operations. The implementation of a new CRM and accounting platform, Xero, will significantly reduce manual administrative tasks through increased automation and improved processes. As a result, the role will transition with greater emphasis on financial reporting, process improvement and supporting the wider business.

Key Purpose

• To support the Head of Finance in delivering effective financial administration and reporting within the scope of the responsibilities outlined below
• To deliver accurate, timely and complete transactional accounting data in a methodical manner, working seamlessly with other members of the team
• To maintain audit trails and ensure that all supporting documentation is available remotely
• To prepare timely monthly income and expenditure as well as cash flow forecasts reporting to support budget monitoring and decision-making
• To identify and implement opportunities to improve, automate and digitise finance processes, keeping the finance team’s ways of working up to date with new technology and AI tools

Primary Responsibilities

Income and receipts

• Raise sales invoices and post sales data to Sage 50
• Match bank and payment gateway receipts to invoices and update our CRM
• Manage credit control, chasing overdue payments promptly
• Complete customer supplier onboarding forms and portal registrations

Purchases and payments

• Enter purchase invoices accurately in Dext and Sage 50
• Prepare supplier and monthly salary payments for approval, handling confidential information with care
• Monitor Direct Debits and Standing Orders and resolve aged creditor queries
• Process employee expense claims

Banking and card management

• Complete the monthly bank reconciliation in Sage 50
• Ensure corporate card receipts are uploaded to Dext and exported to Sage 50 by month end

General ledger and VAT

• Code transactions accurately using our Sage coding guide
• Apply the correct VAT treatment, including Irish VAT, and flag unusual items to the Head of Finance

Reporting

• Prepare monthly income and expenditure reporting and other management information required
• Provide analysis to support budget monitoring and highlight variances or trends of note
• Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and other investment reporting as required
• When required present financial information to the Management team as well as the Board

Process Improvement and Technology

• Proactively identify opportunities to streamline, automate and improve finance processes, reducing manual data entry and freeing up capacity for reporting and analysis
