You don’t need previous marketing or business development experience. We’re more interested in finding someone with strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of their work.

This is a varied opportunity to gain experience across marketing, communications, events, client relationships and business development while working alongside experienced professionals at a highly regarded and ambitious law firm.

What you’ll be doing

Working closely with Business Development Managers and Executives, you’ll help deliver a wide range of activities supporting the firm’s continued growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Marketing and communications: Helping prepare and distribute content for internal and external communications.
  • Business development support: Assisting with client initiatives, marketing campaigns and activities designed to develop new business opportunities.
  • Events and hospitality: Supporting the planning and delivery of client events, networking opportunities and sponsorship activities.
  • Research: Gathering information on companies, industries and market developments to support business development initiatives.
  • CRM and data management: Maintaining accurate client information, contact lists and marketing databases.
  • Legal directories: Assisting with the preparation and submission of legal directory entries.
  • Team administration: Providing reliable, proactive support across the wider Business Development team.

What we’re looking for

We’re open to candidates from a wide range of professional backgrounds. You might currently work in administration, business support, office support or a similar role and be looking for an opportunity to develop your career.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Previous administrative experience in a professional business environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when preparing and proofreading documents.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach and the ability to work independently.
  • Confidence communicating with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in marketing and business development.

Above all, we’re looking for someone bright, dependable and motivated who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys getting things done.

Why consider this opportunity?

Our client is an ambitious and growing UK law firm with a collaborative culture, an impressive client base and a strong commitment to developing its people.

You’ll benefit from:

  • The opportunity to build a career in marketing and business development without needing prior experience in either area.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of projects, clients and business development activities.
  • A supportive and experienced team who will help you learn and progress.
  • Hybrid working from Bristol or Exeter.
  • Competitive salary and performance-linked bonus.
  • Excellent professional development opportunities.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including enhanced parental leave and health and wellbeing support.
