About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Brand Designer to join our central Design team, reporting directly to the VP of Design. This role is critical in shaping and executing the visual identity and brand strategy for SandboxAQ across all mediums and domains. As the first dedicated hire for brand and visual design within the organization, you will have the unique opportunity to build the brand practice from the ground up. Your primary responsibility will be to craft a compelling and cohesive visual narrative that reflects our innovative spirit and diverse expertise. You will set the creative direction for the company’s brand, oversee the development of design systems, and produce high-quality, scalable visual assets. Additionally, you will own and manage sandboxaq.com, ensuring it effectively communicates our brand story and technical capabilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on design skills, capable of translating complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, engaging visual formats. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and excellence across all touchpoints.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in brand systems, graphic design, and web design
• Proficiency with modern CMS platforms and visual web development tools such as Webflow, HTML, and CSS
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining design systems, component libraries, or brand kits
• Ability to design across diverse visual domains while maintaining a consistent brand identity
• Experience working with complex scientific, AI, or technical content and translating it into clear visual communication
• Strong independent working skills, with a track record of establishing brand or web practices from scratch
• Active use of AI tools in the design workflow
• Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasive skills

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the SandboxAQ brand identity, establishing a cohesive visual language and design system
• Develop brand guidelines, components, and architecture for the parent brand and sub-brands across multiple domains
• Lead the design, build, and ongoing maintenance of sandboxaq.com and related digital properties, working hands-on within CMS platforms
• Create high-quality, impactful visual assets including conference graphics, brochures, infographics, and executive materials
• Design scalable solutions such as templates, brand kits, and asset libraries to empower teams across the organization
• Collaborate with product teams, marketing, creative media, and external agencies to ensure brand consistency and innovative execution
• Brief external partners and manage overflow or specialized design work, maintaining high standards and brand integrity
• Establish and refine efficient design processes, workflows, and resources for the organization
• Advocate for best practices in accessibility, SEO, and user experience in all digital assets
