Job Description
Senior SysOps Engineer (Azure) - Leading Finance Software SaaS Vendor - Remote, US
A market-leading, high-growth finance software vendor is looking for a Senior SysOps Engineer to take a technical lead within its Cloud Operations team.
This is an opportunity to join one of the most respected names in the finance software space, a company whose platform is used by finance teams at major organisations worldwide. You’ll implement, support, secure and continuously improve customer cloud environments on Azure, acting as a senior escalation point for complex production issues and leading root cause analysis and remediation. You’ll lead customer environment implementations, migrations and platform upgrades, drive automation and standardisation across the cloud estate, and lead incident response and post-incident reviews. Beyond hands-on delivery, you’ll mentor early and mid-career engineers and help shape architecture decisions so solutions are built for reliability, security and scale. This is a fully remote role with no regular travel.
What you’ll bring:
- 7-10 years in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering or a related role, with increasing responsibility
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, operating systems, networking and security
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, Bicep, ARM or CloudFormation)
- Automation using PowerShell, Terraform, REST, KQL and Azure Policy
- Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot), including validating and operationalising their output
- Solid experience with IT compliance, control-driven policy and security guardrails
- Azure AZ-104 certification or equivalent Azure administration competency
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
- Further Azure certifications such as AZ-204, AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-500, DP-300 or SC-100 (Desirable)
- Kubernetes experience, ideally AKS, or OpenShift, GKE or EKS (Desirable)
- Identity and access management with Entra ID and Okta, including OIDC, SAML, OAuth2 and zero-trust concepts (Desirable)
- High-availability architecture, load balancing and traffic management (Desirable)
- Knowledge of cryptographic protocols such as IPSec, TLS, SSH and AES (Desirable)
- SRE and observability tools such as Dynatrace or New Relic (Desirable)
Package: $115,000 - $150,000 base plus variable compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan and professional development.
