Physician — Clinical AI Evaluation (Remote, Contract, US)

$125 per hour. Remote, anywhere in the US. 20, 30 or 40 hours a week, worked on your own schedule. 12-week contract, 1099.

One year post-residency is enough. No specialisation required.

The work:

• A frontier AI lab is building systems that will give medical answers to real patients. Before that happens, someone has to find out where the reasoning breaks.
• You will review AI-generated clinical content for accuracy, safety and completeness. Evaluating diagnoses, treatment plans and case summaries. Flagging what is wrong, what is incomplete, and what is potentially harmful. Explaining your reasoning in structured feedback that engineers and researchers act on.
• Your judgment becomes the standard the model is measured against. This is expert evaluation, not data labelling, and failure discovery is the point of it.
• You will also help shape the evaluation guidelines themselves, because the edge cases are where the useful disagreements happen.

Who this suits:

• Physicians early in their careers who want substantial non-clinical income alongside a caseload. Anyone on shift work with days to use. Those who have stepped back from full-time practice and want to stay close to clinical reasoning.
• No patient contact, no malpractice exposure, no on-call, no travel. You set your own hours.
• Requirements
• MD or international equivalent (MBBS, MBChB or similar)
• Active, unrestricted US medical licence, and currently practising medicine in the US
• Minimum 1 year post-residency experience
• Comfortable with web-based platforms, structured questionnaires and detailed written guidelines
• At least 4 hours a week overlapping US Pacific business hours
• Helpful but not required: prior clinical research, medical content review, annotation or AI evaluation experience.
• Practical detail
• Open to physicians resident in most US states. A small number are excluded for contracting reasons, so please tell us your state when you apply.
• Onboarding is paid. There is a short certification at the start, also paid. Work arrives in batches across the twelve weeks. Payment is monthly in arrears against approved hours.
