Position Summary:

Our partner is a U.S. based bank modernizing how work moves across customer facing and internal operations . Complex banking processes can involve multiple employees, systems , approvals, documents, and controls, creating opportunities to reduce manual work, eliminate friction, improve access to information, and strengthen the customer experience.

The Business Process Designer will work within Customer Experience and Business Optimization to understand how processes operate today, identify where they break down, and design better ways of working. This person will combine process expertise with data, systems , automation, and AI knowledge to determine the right solution based on the business problem.

The ideal candidate goes beyond documenting workflows. They can investigate root causes, use data to validate where problems exist, design future state processes, and determine when the right answer is process change, reporting, automation, AI , or keeping human judgment in the workflow.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business , Information Systems , Analytics, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in business process improvement, business optimization, operations transformation, or a similar discipline
• Proven experience personally improving complex business processes, beyond documenting their current state
• Experience mapping current state and designing future state workflows across multiple teams, systems , approvals, and dependencies
• Hands on experience using SQL , Power BI, or comparable data and reporting tools to investigate operational problems
• Experience evaluating automation, RPA, or AI opportunities based on business value, feasibility, risk, and the need for human judgment
• Strong understanding of how business systems , integrations, data movement, triggers, and workflows interact
• Banking experience strongly preferred, or significant process transformation experience within another complex or regulated environment

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Partner with business teams to discover how processes actually operate, including undocumented steps, dependencies, handoffs, and exceptions
• Map current state workflows across employees, departments, systems , data, approvals, and controls
• Use interviews, SQL , reporting, and operational data to identify bottlenecks, delays, errors, unnecessary manual work, and root causes
• Design future state processes that improve efficiency, customer experience, employee experience, and operational controls
• Evaluate whether process problems should be addressed through workflow changes, reporting, automation, AI , or another solution
• Identify decisions and exceptions that should remain with employees because they require judgment or carry additional risk
• Quantify improvement opportunities through time savings, error reduction, customer impact, operational efficiency, or stronger controls
• Translate business problems and proposed solutions into clear requirements for Technology, BI, Automation, and operational teams
• Evaluate how system triggers, notifications, integrations, APIs, and data movement affect end to end workflows
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions accurately address the underlying business problem
• Present findings, recommendations, expected value, and tradeoffs clearly to business stakeholders
• Support implementation and measure whether redesigned processes deliver the intended improvement
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve how work moves across the organization
