Job Description
Senior Manager – Energy Cyber, OT Security and Operational Resilience
**London Hybrid working Exclusive retained search**Help shape a growing practice. Position yourself for Director.
55 Exec Search is conducting a confidential retained search for a Senior Manager for a global management consultancy growing its specialist cyber practice.
This is an opportunity to combine meaningful client delivery with a substantial role in developing the practice’s market presence.
The ambition is to hire someone with the potential to progress to Director within 12–18 months , based on performance and readiness.
This is a senior, market-facing role focused on building the firm’s cyber and operational resilience capability across energy, utilities, critical national infrastructure and industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will combine strong consulting delivery with commercial and practice-building responsibilities. You will lead complex client engagements while developing propositions, growing accounts and creating new opportunities.
The opportunity
- Lead cyber transformation and operational resilience programmes across energy, utilities and CNI
- Advise clients on OT and ICS security, cyber-physical risk and technology resilience
- Translate assessments and strategic advice into practical remediation and transformation programmes
- Design security operating models, governance structures and implementation roadmaps
- Build trusted relationships with CISOs, technology leaders and senior operational stakeholders
- Contribute to proposals, propositions, account development and new business
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary consulting teams
- Help build new capabilities, including agent-enabled security across SOC, GRC and vulnerability management
The anticipated balance is approximately 60% delivery leadership and 40% business development, account growth and proposition building.
We are interested in candidates with:
- Strong experience across energy, utilities, critical infrastructure or industrial manufacturing
- Credibility in OT or ICS security, operational resilience, cyber transformation or technology risk
- Experience leading complex consulting engagements and delivery teams
- Knowledge of relevant frameworks and standards such as CAF, NIS and IEC 62443
- Evidence of contributing to sales, proposals, account growth or proposition development
- The confidence to build senior client relationships and represent a growing practice in the market
- The ambition and potential to progress towards Director within 12–18 months
This opportunity would suit an established Senior Manager or an experienced Manager ready to step up. It is particularly relevant to someone who wants to build a consulting business and market profile, rather than focus solely on project delivery. Experience developing new services, tooling or delivery capabilities would add value, including an interest in applying AI and automation to security.
Why consider it?
You’ll join a growing specialist team within an established international consultancy, with the opportunity to influence its propositions, client portfolio and market reputation.
The firm’s independence means there is no software to resell or audit relationship to protect. You can shape advice around the client’s needs and use your expertise to take solutions through into delivery.
Alongside the progression opportunity, benefits include profit share, hybrid and flexible working, a wellbeing fund and volunteering days.
If you want your next move to combine energy-sector impact, a meaningful role in building a practice and the potential to progress to Director, apply now.
