Job Description
About us
Alpha Digital One is a private developer of large-load commercial and industrial projects across multiple U.S. states.
About the role
We are building a small team of experienced utility professionals in several states. We are looking for an industry insider who knows people across electric cooperatives and utilities, has hands-on hiring experience, and can connect us with the right people. This is a relationship role, not a traditional recruiting role.
What you will do
- Identify and introduce experienced current or former utility and cooperative professionals in our target states, mainly through your own network and referrals.
- Hold a first conversation with each person and share your assessment with us.
- Coordinate interviews with our team.
Requirements (must have)
- Current or former experience at an electric cooperative, G&T, statewide cooperative association, NRECA, municipal utility or investor-owned utility.
- An active network across cooperatives and utilities in more than one state, people you can call today.
- Hands-on experience recruiting, hiring or referring professionals, ideally within the utility industry (for example, hiring for your own team or department, or sourcing candidates for utility clients).
- Comfortable reaching out to peers, including retired professionals.
- Self-directed and a clear communicator.
Nice to have
- Involvement in statewide associations, industry boards or regional utility groups.
Not a fit
- Recruiters or staffing professionals without utility industry experience.
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $45–60/hour, depending on experience.
- Additional performance-based compensation is discussed with qualified candidates.
- Flexible weekly commitment.
Please note
- Independent contractor (1099) engagement. You set your own schedule and methods.
- Candidates are responsible for complying with any outside-work or conflict-of-interest policies of their current employer.
- Further details are shared after an initial conversation and a confidentiality agreement.
To apply, please answer:
- Which utilities or cooperatives have you worked for, in what roles, and during which years?
- Please share your LinkedIn profile URL.
- In which states do you have active relationships at cooperatives or utilities?
- Describe your recruiting or hiring experience: what roles you filled, roughly how many people, and whether they were in the utility industry.
- How many hours per week can you commit?
Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
