Location: Glastonbury, CT (Consultants must attend the first two days in person. After that, the position is 100% remote)

Position Overview

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will develop expertise in understanding the Judicial Branch, JB-CSSD, and its data to ensure alignment with business objectives. The consultant will identify and communicate data trends to business stakeholders, helping them derive meaningful insights by translating business requirements into effective data storage, analysis, and visualization solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing star-schema data marts, optimizing data retrieval, and creating dashboards, reports, and other visualizations for stakeholders.

This role requires strong technical expertise in data development and report/dashboard creation, along with excellent communication skills and business acumen. JB-CSSD primarily utilizes the Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) stack and Tableau.

Scope of Services

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for:

• Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
• Developing data models, ETL solutions, and BI/analytical content using the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, including SSRS, SSMS, and SSIS, as well as Excel and Tableau.
• Responding to ad hoc data requests by writing complex T-SQL queries.
• Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to address complex business challenges.
• Gathering requirements, developing prototypes, conducting testing, and enhancing existing solutions to meet evolving business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience gathering and analyzing business requirements.
• Thorough understanding of data warehousing concepts, star-schema design, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience assembling and validating large datasets for research and analysis.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL programming and scripting.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with data in Excel.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience as a database developer.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience designing, troubleshooting, and maintaining SSIS packages and SQL Server Agent jobs.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience designing, troubleshooting, and maintaining SSRS reports and dashboards.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Tableau or an equivalent BI visualization platform. Tableau certification is preferred.
