Job Description
We’re bringing social media signals into WGSN’s trend intelligence. TikTok is live. Next year we launch into new verticals and new platforms, starting with Reddit and Instagram, and that launch date isn’t moving.
Most of the work sits in our data team, across data science, data engineering, data discovery and analytics. What’s missing is someone who owns the whole plan. You’d be that person. You’ll report straight to our Chief Data Officer and have a lot of room to run it your way.
What you’ll actually be doing
- Building and owning the programme plan, from new data sources through to live dashboards
- Mapping who does what and what depends on what, so a slip is spotted and dealt with early
- Running steercos and working groups and keeping status reporting honest
- Working with our product owners to bring a proper launch plan together with agile delivery
- Helping the data team get sharper on programme and product thinking
What we’re looking for
✓ You’ve run technical programmes across several teams and got things launched on time
✓ You understand how data programmes work, from ingestion to production, and where they tend to go wrong
✓ You’re direct, but people still want to work with you
✓ You’ve walked into something messy before and pulled it round
On the technical side you’ll need 5+ years of programme management with a strong data background. No coding needed. Experience with commercial data products, Jira, Confluence or Smartsheet, or a recognised PM certification would all be a bonus.
This isn’t a cloud migration at bank scale. It’s a real programme with real deadlines in a business that’s rebuilding its data platform over the next 12 to 18 months. If that sounds like your kind of job, we’d like to hear from you.
