Job Description
Role: Resource & Talent Acquisition Manager
Location: London or Manchester
Package: £50,000 – £65,000 base salary + performance bonus
Scope: Permanent Consulting Hires & Specialist Associate Network Management
About the Role
We are working with a specialist healthcare digital consultancy looking for a practical, organized, and confident Resource & Talent Acquisition Manager to join their team.
This is a great step for someone from an agency recruitment or professional services background who wants to step in, get hands-on, and help build out an efficient resourcing function from scratch. You will work closely with practice leads and project managers to make sure the right people are working on the right client projects at the right time.
What You’ll Be Doing
The role covers three main areas:
1. Managing Contractors & Associates
- Build and keep in touch with a reliable network of specialist contractors and associates (specifically across digital and healthcare technology).
- Check in with associates regularly, gather project feedback, and maintain good relationships so they want to work with the business again.
- Negotiate day rates and contracts while keeping project costs and profit margins in mind.
2. Managing Live Project Needs
- Take project requirements from directors and match them with available internal consultants or associates.
- Oversee onboarding, compliance checks, and start dates to ensure contractors hit the ground running.
- Balance competing priorities calmly when multiple teams need resources at the same time.
3. Planning & Pipelining
- Look at upcoming sales to forecast what skills and capacity will be needed in the coming months.
- Keep track of utilization—make sure team members coming off projects are quickly lined up for their next piece of work.
- Suggest practical improvements to simplify hiring and resource tracking processes.
What We’re Looking For
- Recruitment or Resourcing Background: Experience in a fast-paced agency or an in-house resourcing role within consulting or IT services.
- Contractor Knowledge: Comfortable finding, speaking with, and managing interim specialists and contractor day rates.
- Hands-on & Proactive: Happy rolling up your sleeves to handle day-to-day hiring while setting up better processes as the company grows.
- Commercial Sense: Practical understanding of day rates, utilization, and margins.
- Organized & Personable: Clear communicator who can handle changing deadlines, build trust with senior colleagues, and stay on top of the details.
