Senior Lending Manager

A growing property business is seeking an experienced Senior Lending Manager and Private Client Lead to play a key role within its expanding Finance and Bridging division.

This is a senior technical and commercial position with responsibility for complex lending, private client relationships, team development and divisional growth.

The successful individual will partner with the leadership team to strengthen the lending proposition, improve operational performance and support the long term development of the division.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring and placement of complex residential, buy to let, bridging and specialist finance transactions
• Review clients’ financial circumstances, property portfolios and wider objectives to deliver tailored lending solutions
• Act as the senior technical authority for complex income structures, portfolio landlords, limited company borrowing and non standard applications
• Build trusted, long term relationships with private clients, high value borrowers, property investors and developers
• Develop strategic relationships with banks, specialist lenders, bridging providers and professional introducers
• Negotiate lending terms and identify alternative solutions where conventional finance is not suitable
• Lead, mentor and provide technical guidance to Case Managers, brokers and lending support staff
• Act as the escalation point for complex cases, underwriting challenges and service issues
• Oversee pipeline performance, case progression, service standards and operational controls
• Work with the leadership team to identify new products, revenue opportunities and areas for market growth
• Support the future development of the team, including recruitment, onboarding and professional development
• Ensure all lending activity meets FCA requirements, internal procedures and quality assurance standards

Experience Required

• Significant experience within specialist property finance, mortgage brokerage, private banking or a lending environment
• Strong technical knowledge of residential mortgages, buy to let, bridging and specialist finance
• Proven experience structuring and placing complex lending transactions
• Experience advising private clients, property investors or high value borrowers
• Strong relationships across the lender and professional introducer market
• Previous leadership, mentoring or team management experience
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• CeMAP or an equivalent mortgage qualification is desirable
