Senior Mobile Developer (Android + iOS) Remote

GSTEX is an early-stage travel technology startup based in Chicago. We build See N’ Do (seeando.com),

a guest experience app that gives hotel guests a personal concierge in their pocket — curated local

recommendations, experiences, and services that help them make the most of their stay.

We work with major multinational hospitality brands, including Marriott, and are expanding the product and

business. This is a long-term ownership role where you will grow with the company, with clear

opportunities to take on greater responsibility and move into leadership positions as we scale.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Developer to take ownership of an existing mobile application

after handover from our current development partner.

Your main responsibilities will be maintaining the app in production, fixing bugs, improving stability and

performance, and developing new features. You will work closely with the current Vietnam-based

development team during a knowledge-transfer period and then become the primary technical owner of

the application.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys taking over existing codebases, solving real

production issues, and building long-term ownership of a product.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the mobile application after vendor handover
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix bugs in production (Android & iOS)
• Develop and implement new features based on business requirements
• Maintain and improve app performance, stability, and user experience
• Work with the existing AWS backend (ECS, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Load Balancing, etc.)
• Collaborate with the current development team during the knowledge-transfer / overlap period
• Manage app store releases (Google Play and Apple App Store)
• Write clean, maintainable code and keep technical documentation updated
• Communicate progress clearly with non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of professional mobile development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with both Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) — OR strong

experience with a cross-platform framework (Flutter or React Native) plus the ability to work on native

modules when needed

• Proven experience maintaining and extending existing production apps (not only green-field

projects)

• Solid experience with debugging, crash analysis, and performance optimization
• Experience working with AWS services (ECS, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Secrets Manager, or similar)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and app store submission processes
• Good written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice-to-Have

• Experience taking over projects from external vendors or previous teams
• Knowledge of backend technologies or API integration
• Experience with push notifications, analytics, and monitoring tools
• Located in Vietnam or in a time zone that overlaps well with Vietnam (UTC+7)
