Job Description

Role Description The Altium PCB Designer will be responsible for designing, laying out, and updating printed circuit boards using Altium Designer for a variety of electronic products. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting schematics, collaborating with circuit design and hardware engineering teams, defining stack-ups, placing components, routing high-speed and RF signals, and ensuring manufacturability and compliance with design rules and industry standards. The role also involves generating fabrication and assembly documentation, library management, and reviewing designs for signal integrity, power integrity, and reliability. This is a contract role and is fully remote, requiring effective communication with cross-functional teams across different locations and time zone.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Circuit Design and Electronics, with the ability to translate schematics into robust PCB layouts.
  • Knowledge of Analog design principles and practical experience implementing analog circuits on PCBs.
  • Background in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline, with understanding of power distribution, grounding, and signal integrity.
  • Experience working with Radio Frequency (RF) circuits, including layout techniques for RF components, impedance control, and noise mitigation.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer for PCB layout, library creation, design rule checks, and documentation generation.
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing and assembly processes, including DFM/DFT considerations and industry standards (e.g., IPC).
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with hardware, firmware, and test teams, and to communicate technical information clearly in writing and in meetings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience as a PCB designer is strongly preferred.
