Senior Platform Engineer - DevOps

Intact, the world’s leading software solutions provider for the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, is looking for Senior Platform Engineers – DevOps to keep our platform running safely at scale.

For more than 25 years, our software has helped certification bodies, accreditation bodies, and scheme owners digitize complex assurance processes. Now we’re building a modern, domain-driven software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform and transforming how our engineering organization works.

In this role, you’ll own hosting, our PostgreSQL fleet, observability, and security tooling, and you’ll set the reliability practice for our engineering teams. You’ll know you’re succeeding when our squads deploy, monitor, and debug their services on their own, without needing the platform team.

ARE YOU READY?

• Run container hosting, managed through infrastructure as code (IaC) and designed to move to sovereign or regional hosting
• Operate PostgreSQL across hundreds of per-tenant databases, covering backup, restore, patching, and high availability
• Build observability with OpenTelemetry, including error tracking and alert routing by severity
• Own secrets and certificate management, dependency scanning, and vulnerability management
• Build change data capture (CDC) and data pipeline foundations together with our data team
• Lead the incident process, including the on-call rota, runbooks, and blameless postmortems
• Automate backups, patching, and restore tests across the entire database fleet
• Make sure alerts catch incidents before customers report them and postmortem actions get closed

ARE YOU THE ONE?

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven experience running production infrastructure with IaC workflows
• Experience operating PostgreSQL in production, including tested restores and high availability
• Experience building observability with OpenTelemetry or comparable tooling, from instrumentation to alerting
• Solid site reliability engineering (SRE) practice, including service level objectives (SLOs), incident command, and postmortems
• Strong security hygiene for regulated environments, covering secrets, certificates, and patching
• Hands-on engineer who prefers automating a problem away over fixing it twice
• High ownership, low ego, and a calm approach when things go wrong
• Strong communicator who can explain technical trade-offs clearly
• Fluent in English; German is a plus

Nice to have:

• Experience automating operations across a large database fleet
• Experience with sovereign or regional cloud hosting
• Experience with CDC tooling and streaming data pipelines
• Experience using AI agents for infrastructure work, such as generating and reviewing IaC or analyzing logs and incidents, with strict validation
• Experience working under security audits or certifications such as ISO/IEC 27001

• Competitive salary: in Austria, the legally required minimum is € 64,554 gross per year (full-time), with willingness to pay more based on qualifications and experience; for other locations, in line with local market conditions
