We’re partnering with a nationally recognized technology and business consulting firm seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to support large-scale enterprise technology modernization and Agile transformation initiatives.

This is a highly visible, hands-on consulting opportunity supporting a major New York-based utilities organization. You’ll work directly with technology leaders, engineers, and cross-functional teams to improve product delivery, modernize processes, and drive measurable results across software, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong product management fundamentals, SAFe, Azure DevOps, and exceptional client-facing communication skills , with an interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve how technology teams operate.

Key Details

• Level: Senior Product Manager (L3); select Principal-level (L4) candidates considered
• Structure: Approximately 6-month contract-to-hire with intended full-time conversion
• Location: Downtown Chicago, Illinois
• Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite
• Travel: Approximately 20% expected initially, including roughly one week per month in New York City for client-facing work
• Contract Rate: Competitive, based on experience
• Potential FTE Base Salary Upon Conversion: $110,500–$130,000 (L3 / Senior Consultant); select candidates at the lower end of L4 / Principal Consultant may be considered, with base compensation generally targeted around $147,000–$160,000.

What You’ll Do

• Lead hands-on product management and delivery , from discovery and requirements through backlog management, execution, and adoption.
• Apply SAFe and Agile practices to improve planning, prioritization, and execution across enterprise technology teams.
• Leverage Azure DevOps for user stories, backlogs, sprint planning, dependencies, and delivery tracking.
• Partner with software engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data/analytics, and business stakeholders to drive modernization initiatives.
• Facilitate client workshops, manage scope and risks, and help teams navigate organizational change and adopt new ways of working.
• Introduce automation, AI-assisted workflows, and measurable delivery improvements to increase productivity and execution efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, technology consulting, or enterprise technology delivery.
• Strong hands-on product delivery experience—not solely product strategy or high-level advisory work.
• Practical experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and the flexibility to adapt methodologies to client needs.
• Experience using Azure DevOps for Agile planning, backlog management, and delivery execution.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and client-facing capabilities, with the ability to operate independently in complex environments.
• Experience driving process improvements, automation, Agile transformation, or organizational change.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing multiple priorities, and delivering measurable outcomes.

Especially Valuable: Consulting experience; utility/energy industry exposure; cybersecurity, infrastructure, or data/analytics product delivery; Scrum Master/RTE experience; and practical use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude to improve product management workflows.

Consulting experience is preferred but not required. Strong industry candidates with the right delivery experience, adaptability, and executive-facing communication skills are encouraged to apply.
