Job Description
Looking for a small, regular job that fits around your studies or other commitments?
Hydrovax Environmental is looking for a reliable, organised and friendly person to help with customer calls, appointment scheduling and keeping our job records up to date.
This role could suit someone who wants a manageable amount of regular work each week, with the convenience of working from home after initial training.
The details
Hours
2 hours per day, Monday to Friday (10 hours per week).
Preferred hours
9am–11am, with some flexibility.
Location
Primarily remote / from home after training.
Initial training
Two shifts working alongside us at our home office in Pyrford, Surrey.
Contract
Part-time, ideally permanent.

£13.50 per hour.
What you’ll be doing
· Calling customers to arrange and confirm engineer appointments.
· Booking appointments into the company calendar.
· Adding jobs accurately to our Jobs Register.
· Updating customer details and appointment information.
· Making follow-up calls and checking records.
· Helping ensure our engineers’ schedules are organised and up to date.
Who we’re looking for
The right person will be:
· Highly accurate — pays attention to detail and checks their work.
· Patient and methodical — is happy following the same processes each day.
· Professional on the phone — speaks clearly, listens carefully and is polite and confident with customers.
· Reliable and punctual — can be counted on to work consistently every weekday.
· Comfortable with computers — can use basic office software and is happy learning new systems.
· Self-motivated — can work independently from home once trained.
Previous office experience isn’t essential. A good attitude, reliability, attention to detail and a professional telephone manner matter much more.
What is the job really like?
Much of the work is repetitive. You’ll make calls, arrange appointments, enter information and update records, often following the same process. We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys routine, takes pride in getting things right and appreciates having a clear set of tasks to complete.
This could suit someone studying, continuing their education or looking for a little extra income alongside other commitments. The role is intended to be an ongoing part-time position, rather than a short-term placement.
How to apply
Please email your CV and a short note about your availability, customer/telephone experience, and why you would suit this role to [email protected]. Closing date: 5pm Friday 23 October, with an ideal start date of Monday 2 November.
