Job purpose

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this 12-month maternity cover role is a sales support function in custom sourcing and product development. It blends hands-on buying support with creative input. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys detail, product, and working with suppliers, and wants to experience a creative and buying function

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Custom sourcing support

• Research and suggest alternative products to meet client enquiries and briefs.
• Gather quotes from our Far East sourcing agents.
• Obtain shipping costs and input pricing accurately.
• Keep enquiry records, spreadsheets, and pricing up to date and organised.

Product and creative support

• Support the building of creative product decks and presentations (PowerPoint).
• Contribute ideas to product proposals and range suggestions, drawing on current consumer and design trends.
• Attend trade shows occasionally and help turn findings into useful, shareable insights for the wider teams.
• Help create Procurement Hub content.

Supplier and team communication

• Liaise with suppliers to gather information and build product knowledge.
• Provide timely and accurate product and pricing information.

Skills and experience

Essential

• Confident building spreadsheets (Excel) and presentations (PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with pricing and product specifications.
• Actively follows consumer and design trends, and can explain how a trend could translate into product.
• Well organised and able to manage several enquiries at once.
• A clear, confident communicator by email and with suppliers.
• A basic understanding of how a product moves from design to delivery, including how overseas quotes, freight and duties feed into a final price.
• Happy to travel occasionally for trade shows and in-person training.

Desirable

• Experience gathering quotes from overseas suppliers or agents, ideally in the Far East.
• Awareness of the promotional merchandise industry and its suppliers.
• An interest in buying, sourcing or product development.

Who this role suits

Someone who would like to experience product and buying, or who is keen to move into a more creative, sourcing or buying-focused role. No formal qualifications are required. Curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn matter more than existing experience.
