**Blackburn, Lancashire 2 Days Office / 3 Days Home**Love creating beautiful kitchens? Ready to do things differently?
At Smile Kitchens, we believe buying a new kitchen should be an exciting, enjoyable experience. And we believe the best kitchen designs start with genuinely understanding the people who will live in them.
We’re a growing, design-led kitchen brand with a fresh approach to how people discover, design and buy their kitchens.
We’re online-only, direct to our customers, and passionate about combining thoughtful design, smart technology and a personal, honest approach to create something better than traditional kitchen retail.
We’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Designer to join our team — someone who combines creativity, commercial awareness and a genuine passion for helping customers make confident decisions about their homes.
If you love great design, enjoy building relationships and want to be part of a business that’s doing things differently, we’d love to meet you.
A different approach to kitchen design
This isn’t a traditional showroom role.
At Smile Kitchens, you’ll work directly with customers who have approached us about their new kitchen, helping them turn their ideas into beautiful, practical spaces that work for their homes, lifestyles and budgets.
You’ll take ownership of the customer journey, from the first design conversation through to helping them confidently choose their new kitchen.
You’ll have the freedom to build relationships, explore creative ideas and offer thoughtful, honest guidance throughout the process.
We believe in consultative, ethical selling. That means listening first, understanding what matters to each customer and recommending solutions that genuinely meet their needs.
We’re commercially ambitious, but we never believe in achieving results at the expense of customer trust.
Once a customer has placed their order, our dedicated operations team manages the next stages, allowing you to focus on what you do best: creating brilliant designs and delivering a fantastic customer experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Creating inspiring, functional kitchen designs tailored to each customer’s home, lifestyle and budget.
- Building genuine relationships with customers, taking time to understand their needs, ideas and priorities.
- Guiding customers through their kitchen design journey with confidence, warmth and professionalism.
- Producing accurate CAD kitchen designs, quotations and proposals.
- Helping customers explore their options and make informed decisions without unnecessary pressure.
- Managing your own portfolio of company-provided customer enquiries, from initial consultation through to confirmed order.
- Following up thoughtfully and proactively to ensure customers feel supported throughout their journey.
- Balancing creativity, customer satisfaction and commercial performance to deliver great outcomes.
- Taking responsibility for your individual results while contributing to the success of the wider team.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth handover to our operations team.
- Sharing ideas, embracing new ways of working and helping us continually improve the Smile Kitchens experience.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced kitchen designer who genuinely cares about the quality of their work and the experience they create for customers.
Someone who understands that designing a kitchen is about more than choosing cabinets and worktops. It’s about listening, solving problems, building trust and helping people make important decisions about their homes.
You’ll be creative, confident and commercially minded, with the ability to guide customers naturally from their initial ideas through to choosing the right kitchen.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in kitchen design, including a successful track record of converting designs into sales.
- Experience using kitchen design CAD software. We’re open to different platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build genuine rapport with customers.
- A thoughtful, consultative approach that puts customer needs and honest advice first.
- Strong organisational skills and the confidence to manage your own workload and customer relationships.
- Commercial awareness and a positive attitude towards achieving individual and team targets.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach, …
