Senior Software Engineer – Stibo STEP

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Stibo STEP Product Master Data Management (PMDM), JavaScript development, system integrations, and publishing industry workflows. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise master data solutions that manage product, contributor, series, work, rights, and metadata information across multiple publishing systems.

This role will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Stewards, and downstream system teams to deliver scalable solutions that improve data quality, operational efficiency, and publishing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Stibo STEP Development

Design, develop, configure, and maintain solutions within the Stibo STEP platform.

Create and support:

Business Rules

JavaScript-based validations and automation

Data Containers

Web UI configurations

Workflows

Event Processors

Integration Endpoints

Reference Types and Data Models

Develop and maintain STEP Web UI screens, portals, and user workflows.

Configure inheritance, classification structures, and product hierarchies.

Application Development

Develop JavaScript solutions for:

Business Rules

Workflow automation

Data validation

Data quality monitoring

Custom calculations

Troubleshoot and optimize existing code and integrations.

Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues.

Integration & API Development

Design and implement integrations between STEP and enterprise systems including:

ERP platforms

Rights Management systems

Publishing systems

E-commerce platforms

Metadata distribution systems

Develop and support:

REST APIs

JSON/XML transformations

ONIX feeds

Event-driven integrations

Messaging platforms (Kafka, SQS, MQ)

Publishing Metadata Management

Support publishing industry metadata standards including:

ONIX 3.0

Formats and Editions

Collaborate with editorial, production, manufacturing, sales, and marketing teams.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

Participate in solution architecture and technical design reviews.

Mentor junior developers and offshore teams.

Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards.

Recommend best practices for scalability, security, and performance.

Lead technical investigations and proof-of-concepts.

Agile Delivery

Participate in Agile ceremonies including:

Sprint Planning

Backlog Grooming

Daily Standups

Sprint Reviews

Retrospectives

Provide technical estimates and implementation plans.

Partner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to refine requirements.
