Assistant Accounts Payable Manager - Retail - London (hybrid) - £45/50,000 + bonus

We’re working with a well-known hospitality business looking to recruit an Assistant Accounts Payable Manager on a permanent basis. Reporting into, and then succeeding the current Accounts Payable Manager, the remit of the role will be to assist in managing the AP function with key areas of focus including:-

• Ensuring the AP team pays suppliers in line with agreed payment terms, without disruption to business operations.
• Supervising a team of 3, providing coaching and development to help team members understand how their work contributes to the wider business and overall objectives.
• Coaching team members on the importance of continuous improvement across internal controls, governance, accuracy and efficiency.
• Building appropriate governance and controls to maintain segregation of duties and reduce the risk of inappropriate or missed payments.
• Maintaining a smooth and controlled payment process, with appropriate checks in place to support accurate payments.
• Ensuring accurate coding across transactions to support reliable financial analysis, reporting, departmental budgets and P&Ls.
• Managing corporate card and employee expense processing and auditing activities, ensuring completion on time and in line with internal policies.

This is a high-volume environment with multiple acquisitions having integrated into the business over the last three years. They will also be upgrading their ERP and purchasing system in the next 12 months. This role will succeed the Accounts Payable manager within the next 12 months.

They’re looking for an experienced senior Accounts Payable executive looking for the next step in their career. You will have worked in a high-volume transactional environment, and may already have supervisory experience or be keen to develop those skills.
