The UK Security Office is a small, focused team at the heart of Cisco’s security and compliance operations in the UK. We work to ensure compliance with UK national security standards while maintaining the trust and integrity that underpins our business. Our mission is to evolve vetting from an operational function into a strategic capability that supports workforce planning, enables business growth, and strengthens Cisco’s position as a trusted partner to government and enterprise customers. You’ll work in a collaborative environment where expertise is valued, autonomy is trusted, and your work directly shapes how the function grows.

Your Impact

The minimum clearance requirement for this role is SC, but the candidate must be suitable to be put forward for DV.

  • Oversee the end-to-end vetting process, including conducting briefings, reviewing applications, handling security clearance requests for all employees, contractors, and partners.
  • Support and drive activities regarding business transformation, with the target of achieving IPSA. To act as a point of contact for IPSA activity, and where necessary, deputise for the Security Controller.
  • Act as a liaison between internal departments, including HR, Legal, and IT, to ensure all parties understand and support vetting procedures
  • Deliver or organise training sessions on vetting requirements and procedures for HR teams, hiring managers, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and hold UK Security Clearance (SC minimum, suitable for DV)
  • Minimum of 5 years of work in a security vetting role
  • Minimum of 5 years working with the UK Public Sector or relevant Government aligned entities such as defense or security contractors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of UK government vetting procedures (BPSS, CTC, SC, DV) and relevant legal frameworks, evidenced by prior role experience or relevant certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with GDPR compliance and best practices for handling personal and sensitive data.
  • Ability to assess complex cases, identify risks, and make informed decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly
  • Experience with government accreditation schemes (such as IPSA) or similar compliance frameworks
