Senior Network Engineer - Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer on a contract basis to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network infrastructures. In this dynamic role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in computer networking, network security, and system administration to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of our IT and communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise-wide network infrastructure including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), and data center environments.
• Configure and manage advanced network hardware such as Cisco routers, switches, ASA firewalls, Meraki devices, Juniper equipment, and other networking appliances.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues involving routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP; protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS; and hardware/software components across diverse operating systems including Windows, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian), UNIX variants (Solaris, BSD), and macOS.
• Manage VPN configurations for remote access solutions using IPsec, SSL/TLS protocols; ensure high availability with load balancing techniques; and oversee system design for scalable network architecture.
• Conduct regular system administration tasks including network monitoring with SolarWinds or PRTG; perform equipment troubleshooting; support network installation projects; and maintain documentation for compliance with ITIL standards.
• Routing & Switching: Across BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD‑WAN, VRF, IPv4/IPv6, QoS, high‑availability enterprise routing.
• Load Balancing: Hands‑on F5 engineering and architecture; experience leading modernization and migration initiatives.
• Firewalls & Security: Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Firepower, ASA, Zero Trust, SASE/SSE, NAC/802.1X, segmentation, microsegmentation.
• Data Center Fabrics: Cisco Nexus, ACI, VXLAN EVPN, spine‑leaf architectures, DC modernization, DR/BCP design.
• Architecture Leadership: Led engineering teams, developed technology roadmaps, executed modernization strategies, guided design standards.
• Certifications: CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCDP, CCIE Security Written, multiple Cisco specialist credentials.
