Job Description

Build Your Career at Milestone Contractors!

The Project Manager leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex heavy civil and highway construction projects at Milestone Contractors LP, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning and project setup through field execution, change management, financial control, and final closeout, and serves as the primary point of accountability for project performance across internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and owner representatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides end-to-end leadership for complex heavy civil and highway construction projects, ensuring delivery aligns with approved scope, schedule, budget, contractual obligations, and quality standards
  • Establishes and governs project execution frameworks, including project organization, documentation standards, schedules, and controls, to enable consistent, compliant, and predictable project outcomes
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all project plans, specifications, subcontracts, purchase orders, shop drawings, and submittals to support accurate decision-making and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Owns project financial performance and risk management, overseeing budgets, forecasts, cost controls, quantities, and change management to protect margins and optimize cost performance
  • Leads change management efforts by evaluating owner-initiated changes, assessing cost and schedule impact, preparing detailed cost estimates and change order submittals, and ensuring alignment with contractual terms and business objectives
  • Coordinates and documents utility relocation efforts, engaging applicable parties proactively to minimize schedule impacts and ensure compliance with relocation agreements and regulatory requirements
  • Directs cross-functional coordination among subcontractors, suppliers, utilities, and internal teams, facilitating effective collaboration and resolving operational challenges to maintain project momentum
  • Advises project supervisors and field leadership on contract and subcontract requirements, scope boundaries, and compliance obligations to ensure consistent execution and minimize risk
  • Organizes, conducts, and represents Milestone Contractors LP at project meetings, ensuring decisions, action items, and commitments are accurately documented and followed through
  • Leads project closeout activities, including documentation completion, financial reconciliation, and stakeholder communication, to ensure all contractual requirements are met and lessons learned are captured
  • Champions a culture of safety and accountability by enforcing company safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices across all project activities, and ensuring compliance by subcontractors and field teams

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred — Milestone Contractors LP values a combination of education, training, and hands-on experience and will consider equivalent experience in lieu of formal education requirements

Experience Qualification:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy highway project management, with demonstrated accountability for project cost, schedule, quality, and contractual compliance required
  • Experience managing large, complex projects with construction volumes in the hundreds of millions of dollars required
  • Experience with design-build, multi-agency, and/or joint venture project delivery models preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a combination of active construction job sites, field offices, job trailers, and office environments with continuous exposure to heights, moving vehicles, stopped traffic, noise, and varying weather and outdoor conditions
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor conditions including inclement weather, extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, asphalt, concrete, and dirt
  • Regular exposure to construction noise including mechanical equipment, heavy machinery, horns, and jackhammers…
