Blog and Social Media Assistant

Job Summary:
It’s time for us to hire a Social Media Content Specialist to keep our brand active and consistent on social platforms and to support our blog with polished, publish-ready drafts. We have no shortage of ideas and firsthand insights, and we need someone who can turn them into reels, posts, and articles. We’re picturing someone who knows organic social media well, is comfortable in WordPress, and can take direction while also bringing ideas of their own.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and publish daily organic content on Facebook and Instagram based on weekly direction
• Shape our ideas and raw material into engaging posts, graphics, and short-form reels
• Launch and grow additional platforms such as Pinterest and Reddit
• Research platform trends and share what’s working to inform weekly content planning
• Write first drafts of blog articles from provided titles, outlines, and firsthand insights
• Find suitable images in stock photo libraries and our own content
• Format and upload finished drafts in WordPress, ready for final editing
• Keep a consistent posting and publishing schedule

Mandatory Skills:

• Proven experience managing organic social media on Facebook and Instagram
• Experience creating reels and short-form video content
• Hands-on WordPress experience, including formatting and publishing posts
• Strong command of English grammar and the ability to tell strong writing from weak
• Ability to follow an outline and work firsthand insights into a draft
• Experience sourcing images from stock photo platforms
• Consistent, meticulous, and self-sufficient
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Pinterest and Reddit
• Experience in the travel, hospitality, or lifestyle niche
• Proficiency with Canva, CapCut, or similar design and video editing tools
• Basic understanding of SEO and blog optimization
• Able to keep several content streams on track at the same time
• Ability to suggest content ideas beyond the direction given
