About Moon Digital Design
Moon Digital Design helps businesses build stronger brands, better websites and more effective marketing.
Our work spans branding, websites, SEO, advertising and social media. We look at how these elements work together, creating marketing that looks professional, communicates clearly and supports our clients’ commercial goals.
As the business grows, we’re expanding our network of trusted freelancers. We’re looking for a graphic designer who combines creative ability with reliability, attention to detail and an understanding of what design needs to achieve.
This is an opportunity to develop an ongoing working relationship with a growing agency, contributing to projects for businesses across Suffolk and further afield.
The opportunity
You’ll work alongside Moon Digital Design on individual client projects, bringing your specialist design skills to an agreed brief.
We’re particularly interested in someone who can create polished brand identities and carry those identities consistently across digital and print materials.
You might be an experienced freelancer looking for another agency relationship, or a newer designer with a strong portfolio and the ambition to develop. Your work, approach and communication matter more to us than the number of years on your CV.
Projects you could support
Depending on your strengths, projects may include:
- Brand identities, logo design and visual guidelines.
- Brand refreshes for established businesses.
- Social media graphics and reusable content templates.
- Creative assets for Google and Meta advertising.
- Brochures, flyers, posters, banners and other printed materials.
- Website graphics and supporting visual assets.
- Presentation decks and branded business documents.
- Campaign artwork adapted across different formats and channels.
You don’t need to specialise in every area. We’d rather understand what you do particularly well and match you with suitable projects.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have a portfolio that demonstrates strong typography, layout, colour choices and visual consistency. You should be comfortable explaining your creative decisions and connecting them to the client’s audience and objectives.
You’ll also bring:
- The ability to interpret a brief and ask useful questions before starting.
- Confidence working within existing brand guidelines and developing new identities.
- Proficiency in the design tools relevant to your work, such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- An understanding of preparing artwork correctly for digital use and print.
- An organised approach to source files, exports and project handovers.
- Clear communication about availability, progress and deadlines.
- A constructive approach to feedback and revisions.
- Respect for client confidentiality and agreed agency working arrangements.
Experience designing for service businesses, property, construction, retail or ecommerce would be useful, although it isn’t essential.
Experience creating editable Canva templates or collaborating on website design would also be welcome.
How we’ll work together
Each project will have an agreed brief, deliverables, fee, timeline and revision allowance before work begins.
We value your specialist input. If you can see a better way to meet the brief, we want you to share it.
Most work can be completed remotely. Being local would make occasional meetings, creative discussions and introductions easier, so we’re particularly keen to hear from designers within roughly 30 minutes of Bury St Edmunds.
This is a freelance opportunity, with projects offered as suitable work becomes available. It does not carry a guaranteed volume of work.
What makes someone a great fit?
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in the finished result and is straightforward to work with.
You think beyond making something look attractive. You consider whether it communicates the right message, suits the audience and works in the formats the client needs.
You’re also comfortable being honest about capacity and raising questions early. We want to build a relationship where both…
