Position: Custom Jewelry CAD Designer
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote – India
Compensation: ₹45,000–₹55,000($466-570) per month, depending on experience and portfolio
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, aligned with San Dimas, California working hours.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly creative Custom Jewelry CAD Designer to join our growing remote design team.

This position is specifically for someone who can create custom and original jewelry designs, not simply reproduce standard or repetitive models.

The successful candidate must be able to take sketches, photographs, references, customer ideas, or design concepts and transform them into accurate, attractive, and production-ready 3D jewelry models.

Key Responsibilities

• Create custom 3D CAD jewelry designs based on sketches, reference images, customer concepts, and creative direction.
• Design rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces, engagement rings, and other fine jewelry.
• Translate 2D concepts and reference images into accurate 3D production-ready models.
• Create designs that are both aesthetically appealing and technically manufacturable.
• Ensure appropriate metal thickness, proportions, stone placement, prongs, settings, tolerances, and structural integrity.
• Create models suitable for casting, 3D printing, finishing, and stone setting.
• Make revisions based on customer, designer, management, or manufacturing feedback.
• Produce high-quality renders when required for customer approval or internal review.
• Prepare accurate production files/STL files.
• Maintain organized CAD files and project documentation.
• Communicate clearly with the jewelry design and manufacturing teams.
• Meet agreed deadlines and turnaround times.
• Manage multiple custom projects simultaneously.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional jewelry CAD design experience.
• Demonstrated experience creating custom jewelry, rather than only standard catalogue designs.
• Strong portfolio of completed jewelry CAD work.
• Advanced proficiency in Rhino 3D and MatrixGold/Matrix or equivalent professional jewelry CAD software.
• Strong understanding of jewelry manufacturing.
• Knowledge of stone settings including prong, bezel, pave, halo, channel, and other common settings.
• Understanding of casting, 3D printing, metal thickness, tolerances, and production requirements.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good artistic/design sense and ability to interpret creative references.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with ZBrush.
• Experience creating high-end/custom fine jewelry.
• Experience with diamond and gemstone jewelry.
• Experience designing jewelry for the U.S. market.
• Experience creating production-ready models rather than purely visual/conceptual designs.

Freelance / Per-CAD Opportunity

We are also open to working with highly experienced freelance jewelry CAD designers on a per-design basis.

Target rate: approximately $10 per CAD design, depending on complexity.

Freelance candidates must be able to:

• Complete designs within approximately 1–2 days.
• Provide unlimited reasonable revisions until the design is approved.
• Deliver production-ready files.
• Maintain consistent quality.
• Communicate quickly and reliably.
• Handle custom designs rather than only standard models.

Freelancers may be considered for ongoing, high-volume work based on quality, speed, reliability, and ability to follow specifications.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a designer who combines technical CAD expertise with genuine creativity. Portfolio quality will be extremely important in the hiring process.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
