Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Manager II – Fraud & Identity based in the United States.
As a Senior Product Manager II – Fraud & Identity, you will lead the strategy and development of products that detect, prevent, and respond to fraud while strengthening identity verification and authentication. You will own a critical product area spanning the entire customer lifecycle, combining fraud prevention, risk management, and identity protection into a cohesive experience. Working hands-on with engineering, operations, security, and legal teams, you will transform complex risk data into practical, scalable solutions. You will leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve fraud detection while minimizing unnecessary friction for legitimate customers. This role offers significant autonomy to shape product direction, prioritize investments, and influence cross-functional roadmaps. Join a remote-first technology environment where clear decision-making, technical collaboration, and measurable business impact are highly valued.
Accountabilities
- Define product strategy: Own and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for fraud prevention, detection, identity verification, and authentication across the customer lifecycle.
- Drive roadmap prioritization: Establish priorities across fraud and identity initiatives, balancing risk reduction, customer experience, technical feasibility, and business objectives while coordinating dependencies across teams.
- Develop detection capabilities: Collaborate directly with engineers to design and refine fraud scoring logic, detection rules, risk signals, and identity verification mechanisms. Evaluate whether available data meaningfully distinguishes legitimate activity from fraudulent behavior.
- Turn insights into action: Translate research, data analysis, and technical findings into clear recommendations, decision documents, and prioritized product initiatives that lead to measurable outcomes and shipped improvements.
- Lead fraud incident response: Coordinate incident management across engineering, client operations, governance, risk and compliance, treasury, and security teams. Develop and improve response playbooks, escalation processes, and investigation workflows.
- Establish performance metrics: Define and monitor key indicators for fraud detection accuracy, authentication coverage, false-positive rates, operational efficiency, and customer friction to guide product decisions.
- Optimize fraud operations: Support fraud triage, investigations, case management, and resolution processes, equipping operational teams with effective tools and workflows.
- Support regulatory requirements: Partner with legal and governance, risk, and compliance stakeholders to support know-your-customer (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML), and audit-related product requirements while maintaining clear ownership of product responsibilities.
- Evaluate technology investments: Lead build-versus-buy assessments, evaluate third-party fraud and identity platforms, and identify opportunities to improve product capabilities, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
- Advance AI and automation: Apply AI-powered technologies and automation to accelerate investigations, improve risk assessment, increase detection accuracy, and streamline fraud management throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Influence strategic decisions: Challenge assumptions and proposed investments with evidence, ensuring that new signals, vendors, and enforcement measures deliver meaningful risk reduction without introducing unnecessary customer friction.
Requirements
- Product management experience: Demonstrated ownership of a fraud, risk, or identity product area within a fintech, payments, or marketplace organization, with direct accountability for product strategy, prioritization, and outcomes.
- Fraud prevention expertise: Strong understanding of fraud detection principles, including precision and recall, false-positive costs, risk signals, identity verification, and the trade-offs between security and customer experience.
- Technical capabilities: Experience working directly with engineering teams on scoring logic, data schemas, integrations, identity infrastructure, and technical product decisions.
