Job Description AI Risk and Governance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and operationalize the enterprise AI governance framework, including governance structures, policies, standards, procedures, and clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and decision rights across the AI lifecycle.
  • Lead the development and rollout of organizationwide AI risk governance mechanisms, including AI risk policies, AI risk taxonomy, control objectives and control libraries, and governance operating models, to enable consistent and repeatable application of AI risk management practices across business units and AI use cases.
  • Conduct periodic AI governance maturity and gap assessments against leading industry frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 42001:2023, NIST AI Risk Management Framework) to evaluate the organization’s AI governance posture, assess alignment of AIenabled solutions with governance, risk, security, privacy, and compliance requirements, and drive remediation actions.
  • Lead usecase–level AI governance risk assessments, including review of AI solution designs from a governance and ethics perspective, to identify, assess, and document risks across the design, deployment, usage, and monitoring phases, and ensure defined risk treatment and mitigation actions are implemented.
  • Ensure AI use cases incorporate responsible AI governance mechanisms, supporting principles such as fairness, transparency, explainability, accountability, and data protection throughout the AI lifecycle.
  • Oversee identification and assessment of AIrelated security, misuse, integrity, and ethical risks, leveraging leading practices and standards (e.g., OWASP, MITRE ATLAS) from a governance and oversight standpoint, without direct involvement in handson technical testing.
  • Drive execution and tracking of AI risk treatment plans, ensuring risks are appropriately mitigated, accepted, escalated, or retired in line with enterprise risk management practices and governance approvals.
  • Coordinate with crossfunctional stakeholders (business, legal, compliance, risk, privacy, security, and technology teams) to embed AI governance and risk management practices into daytoday AI development, deployment, and operational processes.
  • Establish and support an AI Governance and Ethics Steering Committee, enabling structured oversight, decisionmaking, status reporting, and ongoing monitoring of AI governance objectives, initiatives, and risk posture.
  • Develop and deliver AI governance, risk, and ethics awareness programs and training, driving adoption of AI policies, standards, and responsible AI practices across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Risk Management, or a related discipline; Master’s or postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • 4-7 years of professional experience in AI governance, technology risk, digital risk, compliance, or advisory roles, with direct exposure to AIenabled or datadriven initiatives in large enterprises or consulting environments.
  • Handson delivery experience in AI governance, including AI governance framework development, AI risk policies, AI risk taxonomy, control definitions, governance operating models, and usecaselevel AI risk and Responsible AI impact assessments.
  • Experience conducting AI governance and risk reviews across design, deployment, and operational phases, focused on governance oversight, assurance, and risk enablement, not deep technical testing or model development.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, AIGP, or equivalent AI governance, risk, or audit credentials are strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce clear governance documentation, client deliverables, and executivelevel materials on AI risk, governance, and regulatory topics.
  • Proven stakeholdermanagement capability, with experience collaborating across business, legal, compliance, privacy, risk, security, and technology teams in a clientfacing consulting environment.
