Job Description
About the Company
Runtime is partnering with a fast-growing AI developer tools company that helps engineering teams improve how they build, test, and review software. The company develops AI-powered technology for software development teams and works with enterprise engineering organizations worldwide.
Its platform supports deployments across cloud and on-premises environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). With growing demand from enterprise customers across the United States, the company is expanding its technical team to support customer installations and deployments.
About the Role
The company is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of customer deployments and infrastructure-related challenges across the United States. This is a hands-on role combining Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, cloud technologies, networking, and direct customer support.
You will work with enterprise customers to deploy software in their environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve existing infrastructure. The role requires someone who can investigate problems independently, identify root causes, and automate manual processes to make deployments more reliable and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer installations and software deployments across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Work directly with enterprise customers to troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, and deployment issues.
- Investigate complex technical problems by analyzing logs, errors, and system behavior to identify root causes.
- Work with Kubernetes to support and manage application deployments.
- Use Terraform and Helm to provision, configure, and manage infrastructure.
- Support deployments across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Diagnose infrastructure and networking issues, including firewall configuration and connectivity challenges.
- Manage infrastructure-related support tickets and drive technical issues through resolution.
- Improve existing infrastructure and automate manual deployment and operational processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and technical leadership to resolve customer challenges and improve deployment practices.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and customer issues in a fast-moving, autonomous engineering environment.
- Travel occasionally to enterprise customer locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 5–7 or more years of relevant experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering (SRE), deployment engineering, or a related technical role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Solid infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform and Helm.
- Experience deploying software into customer-managed cloud or on-premises environments.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, firewalls, and connectivity.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex deployment and infrastructure problems using logs, errors, and other diagnostic information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a technically demanding environment.
- Comfort learning new technologies and taking ownership of problems without requiring extensive direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and observability.
- A software development background before moving into DevOps or infrastructure engineering.
- Experience in roles such as DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or Deployment Engineer.
- Experience supporting enterprise customers and resolving technical issues in customer environments.
Location and Work Arrangement
This is a remote position for candidates based in the United States. Candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.
The role involves approximately 30% customer-facing work and occasional travel to enterprise customer locations.
Interview Process
A coding assessment is not part of the interview process.
