Job Description
At E Tech Group, joining our team means joining a group of passionate and forward-thinking experts. We’re one of the largest engineering and system integration firms in the United States providing value for our clients through IT automation and control solutions for more than 30 years to the Life Sciences, Mission Critical, Metals & Mining, Warehousing & Distribution, and CPG/Food & Beverage industries. Our national and global scale allows us to help our clients develop and implement standardized solutions at any of their facilities regardless of physical location or the local resources available at that site.
We are seeking a Director of Product Management to own E Tech Group’s (ETG) portfolio of service lines and in-house products, guide its growth strategy, and make sure our teams are ready to sell, deliver, and support each offering. This leader will manage the service line and product leaders who report to the role, starting with the MES Digital Transformation Lead, and build strong partnerships with Business Unit sales and operations leaders across the organization.
The role brings together three priorities:
-
Win larger pursuits now. In the near term, the Director will bring offering expertise into active pursuits so sales teams can win larger and more technically complex opportunities.
-
Make service lines repeatable. Over time, this leader will decide where ETG should invest and turn selected service lines into repeatable, scalable businesses.
-
Grow ETG-built products. The Director will build ETG’s own products (software applications, toolkits, and engineering accelerators) into a source of recurring revenue that sets ETG apart from other system integrators.
You will:
- Shape the portfolio for each service line and product, including standard services, scope boundaries, ways to engage new clients, and opportunities to expand relationships with existing clients.
- Help turn high-potential service lines from custom, one-time engineering engagements into repeatable, packaged solutions with clear value for clients.
- Develop pricing and commercial models for packaged offerings with Finance and sales leadership. These include fixed-price, phased, managed, recurring, and license or subscription models.
- Make sure capability investments match the offering strategy, so hiring and development priorities support what ETG plans to bring to market.
- Own the roadmap for ETG’s in-house products, including software applications, code libraries, templates, and delivery accelerators, from concept through launch, support, and retirement.
- Gather input from clients, sales, and delivery teams, write clear product requirements, and set backlog priorities with the engineering teams that build and maintain each product.
- Decide which products ETG sells on their own and which are used internally to make our services faster, more consistent, and more profitable.
- Find reusable tools and code built on client projects that can be turned into products, where contract terms allow, and set the standards that make this possible.
- Define licensing, subscription, maintenance, and support models, and work with Finance and Legal on commercial terms and intellectual property protection.
- Track product performance, including adoption, renewals, support load, revenue, and margin, and recommend whether to invest further, maintain as is, or retire each product.
- Give the sales organization practical tools for each service line and product, including positioning, qualification criteria, discovery guides, reference architectures, demos, case studies, and client success stories.
- Work with Business Unit sales VPs and the Director of Strategic Accounts to identify target accounts and build cross-sell and attach strategies, including attaching ETG products to service engagements. Partner with the Director of EPC to shape offering content for EPC-led pursuits.
- Work with Sales Operations and Revenue Operations so service lines and products are tagged consistently in Salesforce, which gives us reliable reporting on bookings, pipeline, win rates, and recurring revenue.
- Partner with Marketing on campaigns, content, product launches, and event strategies for service lines and products.
- Partner with Business Unit operations leaders so our teams can deliver what we sell. For each service line, that means clear skills inventories, hiring and training plans, delivery standards, and reusable assets.
