Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Print Production & Design Assistant to oversee artwork preparation and file specs for commercial printing. In this role, you will review customer artwork, adjust layouts, and ensure dimensions, bleeds, resolution, and color modes strictly align with print specifications. You will use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva to prepare proofs and print-ready files while liaising with customers, internal teams, and suppliers to prevent production delays. The ideal candidate possesses strong file prep expertise, high organizational skills, and a design portfolio demonstrating print-ready technical output.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 12 PM - 4 PM or 1 PM - 5 PM, EST (20 hrs per week)

Responsibilities

• Review customer artwork and order specifications for accuracy and suitability for printing.
• Check dimensions, resolution, margins, bleeds, colors, fonts, and file formats against supplier requirements.
• Make artwork adjustments and prepare customer proofs as needed.
• Create or modify layouts using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva.
• Prepare and send approved, print-ready files to the appropriate supplier.
• Coordinate with customer service, suppliers, and a supervisor to resolve missing information or artwork issues.
• Track proof approvals and artwork submissions to prevent unnecessary production delays.
• Maintain organized files and accurate order notes.

Must-have requirements

• Practical experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva.
• Portfolio of design work
• Understanding of print preparation, including resolution, bleed, color modes, and print-ready PDFs.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow customer instructions and product specifications.
• Good organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and meet deadlines.
• Experience with printing or ecommerce production is preferred (experience in preparing files for commercial printing).
