Job Description
Job Summary
This is a work-from-home role focused on resolving customer questions about orders, accounts, and billing through chat, email, and the occasional phone call. You’ll log in each shift and work the queue, pulling up account details and getting issues sorted without unnecessary back-and-forth. Some shifts move at a steady pace. Others pick up fast, usually tied to a delayed shipment or a site hiccup that sends a wave of messages in at once. You’ll need a solid internet connection and a workspace quiet enough that you can actually concentrate, since being reachable during your shift is most of what makes this job work. Notes go into the CRM after every conversation, so the next person covering the queue picks up with the full picture. We run short team calls now and then, so you’re not entirely disconnected from the rest of the group despite working apart.
Responsibilities
- Working the chat and email queue throughout your shift
- Look up order and account history to answer customer questions
- Walking someone through a billing dispute or refund request
- Taking calls when the chat volume eases up
- Flag anything out of the ordinary to a supervisor instead of guessing
- Updating customer contact and shipping details on request
- Keeping detailed notes so a teammate can step in without missing context
- Resetting passwords and resolving basic account access issues
Qualifications
- A dependable workspace and the discipline to manage your own time matter a lot when nobody’s physically checking in.
- You write clearly, since nearly every interaction here happens through text rather than in person.
- When several tickets land close together, you generally work through them without losing track of what’s open.
- Comfortable with a CRM, a knowledge base, and a handful of tabs running without much friction.
- A customer’s short temper in a message still deserves the same calm response as one on a call.
- You stay reachable and responsive during your scheduled hours, which matters more in a remote setup than people assume.
- A team player who checks in on coworkers instead of going quiet for the whole shift.
- Willing to learn new systems as they’re rolled out, since remote tools here tend to shift every so often.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance carry extra weight in a role like this, since a gap in coverage is felt fast.
