Job Description
Esri Geospatial Developer / Administrator
Build and run the cloud GIS platform behind a federal mission.
Our team supports a federal client where ArcGIS Enterprise powers the analysis that decision-makers rely on. Every deployment has to be repeatable, secure, and automated from source to production. We’re looking for an engineer who enjoys both sides of the job: building geospatial applications, and running the platform underneath them in AWS.
What you’ll work on
- Run ArcGIS Enterprise in the cloud. Deploy, administer, upgrade, and tune Portal, Server, Data Store, and Web Adaptor on AWS, including GovCloud.
- Automate deployments. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and GitLab CI that ship apps, services, and configuration with no manual steps.
- Treat infrastructure as code. Provision EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, and load balancers with Terraform so every environment can be rebuilt on demand.
- Build geospatial applications. Develop web mapping apps with the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, and automate data and publishing workflows with Python (arcpy, ArcGIS API for Python).
- Manage enterprise geodatabases. Administer PostgreSQL/PostGIS on Amazon RDS, including performance, backups, and versioning.
- Keep it secure. Support ATO activities, patching, and security hardening for a federal environment.
What you bring
- 8+ years of Esri development and ArcGIS Enterprise administration
- Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC)
- CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, with YAML-based configuration
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform
- Scripting in Python and/or PowerShell or shell
- Git-based development workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or another STEM field
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
Nice to have
- AWS GovCloud/Commercial experience
- Docker and/Or Kubernetes-based deployments
- Identity integration (SAML/OIDC, Keycloak, or Active Directory) with ArcGIS Enterprise
- Esri Server Administration, AWS certifications, or CompTIA Security+
- Experience on federal programs
- Agile/Scrum experience
