About The Role SMX is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer - Front End Web Applications to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, support, and implementation of the Budget and Spend (BAS) solution, a key component of our cloud-based business intelligence platform. You will work remotely supporting a Washington, DC-based customer and will require a Public Trust clearance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in front-end web development, particularly with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and related technologies, to create interactive, scalable, and high-performance enterprise planning and reporting applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on front-end web technologies
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and related web technologies
• Experience working with REST APIs, creating and consuming APIs, and handling data formats such as XML and JSON
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming/Design and web development debugging techniques
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Responsibilities

• Build enterprise planning and reporting applications utilizing SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or other web technologies
• Review application requirements and interface designs to ensure alignment with project goals
• Develop and implement highly interactive UI/UX components to enhance user engagement
• Monitor and optimize front-end performance for scalability and responsiveness
• Document application changes, updates, and technical specifications for future reference
• Provide feedback on UI/UX design feasibility and suggest improvements for better usability
• Collaborate with team members through code reviews and effective communication
• Participate in the entire software development life cycle, adhering to best practices and standards
