We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join a dynamic and creative business on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This is a standalone HR role offering the opportunity to shape and drive the people agenda while providing both operational and strategic HR support across the organisation.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring a positive workplace culture, legal compliance, and the development of people-focused initiatives that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full HR function, providing expert advice and support to directors, managers, and employees.
  • Develop, implement, and continually enhance HR policies, procedures, and best practice frameworks.
  • Monitor changes in employment legislation and provide proactive guidance on compliance and risk management.
  • Manage employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, mediations, and subject access requests.
  • Design and oversee performance management processes, including probation reviews, appraisals, and development plans.
  • Support remuneration and benefits initiatives, including salary benchmarking, pay reviews, and benefits administration.
  • Develop and maintain employee wellbeing and engagement programmes to enhance retention and employee experience.
  • Partner with senior leadership to align people strategies with wider business objectives and growth plans.
  • Manage recruitment activities across the business, from role briefing and advertising through to interview coordination, offers, and onboarding.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and workplace culture through internal initiatives, training programmes, and external partnerships.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records while ensuring GDPR and employment law compliance.
  • Review and improve HR systems, processes, and practices to ensure operational excellence and support organisational change.

About You

  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above).
  • Proven experience operating in a standalone HR Manager or sole HR practitioner role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experienced in managing complex employee relations cases with confidence and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
  • Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experienced user of HR systems with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.

What’s on Offer

  • Part-time position, 3 days per week.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of the entire HR function.
  • A varied role combining strategic HR leadership with operational delivery.
  • Collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Chance to make a genuine impact on people, culture, and business performance.

If you are an experienced HR professional who enjoys autonomy, building strong workplace cultures, and partnering with leadership teams to drive business success, we would love to hear from you.
