Front End Engineer (React)

About the Role

A growing SaaS organization is looking for an experienced Front End Engineer to help build and improve software products used by global brands and retailers. The company develops solutions for pricing optimization, promotions, and consumer insights.

In this remote contract role, you will work with React, JavaScript, and modern front-end technologies across multiple SaaS products, including established platforms and newer products in early development. You’ll join a small, collaborative engineering team where you can contribute ideas, develop prototypes, and take ownership of features from initial concept through production.

The role offers a mix of technical and user experience challenges, with the opportunity to make a direct impact on products used by major consumer brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance front-end features across multiple SaaS products.

• Develop interactive, high-quality user interfaces using JavaScript, React, and modern front-end technologies.

• Translate product and engineering ideas into reliable, well-tested production code.

• Create prototypes to demonstrate user interactions and communicate design concepts.

• Apply website design and usability principles to make applications intuitive and effective for users.

• Consider cross-browser compatibility and rendering issues when developing and maintaining interfaces.

• Collaborate with back-end engineers to ensure front-end functionality is implemented accurately.

• Stay informed about target users, usability practices, and current UI trends.

• Work independently on assigned tasks while contributing to a collaborative engineering environment.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in user interface or front-end development.

• Strong JavaScript development skills.

• Experience working with JavaScript libraries and modern front-end technologies.

• Knowledge of MVC, MVP, and/or MVVM design patterns.

• A solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.

• Experience developing highly interactive software applications.

• Understanding of website design and usability principles.

• Strong knowledge of cross-browser rendering and compatibility issues.

• Experience using version control systems.

• Effective communication skills, including the ability to work with both business and technical teams.

• Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React or a similar MVC framework.

• TypeScript development experience.

• Code samples or an online portfolio demonstrating front-end development work.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Experience supporting international product rollouts.

Technical Environment

React, JavaScript, TypeScript, MVC/MVP/MVVM design patterns, and version control systems.

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote contract opportunity with an initial duration of six months or longer.
