Job Description
We’re partnered with an award-winning, London-based regulatory consultancy that helps financial services firms navigate regulatory change, transform their businesses and grow with confidence. They’re looking for a Manager to join their Banking, Credit & Insurance team, leading the delivery of FCA and PRA advisory work for firms across the banking market.
It is ideally suited to someone with a strong bank lending and deposit-taking background who enjoys variety, owning client relationships and seeing projects through from scoping to delivery. Insurance experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise banking clients on how FCA and PRA rules apply to their business, helping them respond to regulatory change in a practical, commercially sensible way
- Work across a broad mix of engagements, from new bank authorisations and permission changes through to regulatory audits, supervisory and enforcement support, and due diligence on transactions
- Take ownership of client projects from initial scoping to final delivery, keeping work on track, on budget and to a consistently high standard
- Build lasting relationships with clients as their go-to contact, working alongside Partners on more complex or sensitive matters
- Develop and mentor junior consultants, helping to shape a supportive and ambitious team environment
- Play an active part in growing the practice, spotting new opportunities, contributing to proposals and pitches, and raising the firm’s profile through events and industry networks
Experience Required:
- Management-level experience gained in a bank, lender or consultancy, with deep exposure to lending and deposit-taking, ideally covering both retail and commercial lending
- A solid grasp of the UK regulatory framework for banking, including the core FCA sourcebooks for banking and mortgage conduct, systems and controls, and the AML regime
- Familiarity with prudential regulation and the PRA’s requirements would set you apart
- Experience running regulatory projects and producing clear, well-reasoned advice and reports for clients or senior management
- Confidence leading and developing junior team members, and holding your own with senior stakeholders
- Some involvement in business development, such as supporting pitches or shaping proposals, would be a bonus
This is a great opportunity to join a specialist, partnership-led consultancy with a team of former regulators, lawyers and industry practitioners, and to take real ownership of client work in a growing banking practice.
