About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining a modern microservices-based platform built around Java. Your primary responsibility will be to take ownership of backend services, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to translate complex business requirements into reliable, scalable software solutions. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on development, tackling practical challenges associated with distributed systems, and driving technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience with Java, ideally around 10 years or equivalent expertise, including recent work with Java 17 or 21, focusing on concurrency, collections, and JVM performance tuning.
• Strong proficiency with Spring Boot, dependency injection, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and Spring Security.
• Proven track record of delivering and operating microservices, with a solid understanding of service boundaries, retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, and eventual consistency.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, with familiarity in OpenAPI documentation, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and token-based security mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience with messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka, including consumer groups, delivery guarantees, and duplicate processing handling.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, with skills in data modeling, transaction management, and query optimization. Experience with Redis caching is also desirable.
• Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms like AWS, utilizing Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Strong testing background with JUnit 5, Mockito, and integration testing frameworks such as Testcontainers or WireMock.
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git, build tools such as Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines involving GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to interpret ambiguous requirements, communicate technical decisions effectively, review code constructively, and work within Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java microservices, from initial technical design through testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.
• Create secure, well-documented REST APIs with clear versioning, validation, and consistent error handling to ensure seamless integration.
• Implement Kafka producers and consumers, incorporating retries, idempotent processing, and dead-letter handling to ensure reliable messaging.
• Participate in architectural discussions, contributing to decisions on service boundaries, data ownership, and integration patterns to optimize system performance and scalability.
• Write automated tests to uphold code quality, readability, and maintainability, conducting code reviews and adhering to best practices.
• Monitor and enhance application performance and reliability using profiling tools, metrics, logs, and distributed tracing techniques.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to manage container deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshoot production issues to implement lasting solutions.
• Work closely with product owners and QA teams to clarify requirements, explain technical trade-offs, and mentor junior developers for continuous team growth.
