Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Physical Design Engineer to be part of our VLSI design team. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end physical design activities, ensuring high-quality implementation from netlist to GDSII, meeting timing, power, and area requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform full-chip/block-level physical design implementation including:
• Floorplanning
• Placement
• Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS)
• Routing
• Timing closure
• Work on design optimization for performance, power, and area (PPA).
• Handle static timing analysis (STA) and fix timing violations (setup/hold).
• Perform physical verification tasks such as DRC, LVS, and ERC checks.
• Analyze and mitigate congestion, IR drop, and electromigration issues.
• Collaborate with RTL, front-end, and verification teams to resolve design issues.
• Ensure design meets sign-off requirements and tape-out schedules.
• Debug and resolve design issues using industry-standard EDA tools.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of VLSI physical design flow.
• Experience with tools such as:
• Cadence (Innovus, Tempus)
• Synopsys (ICC2, PrimeTime)
• Good knowledge of:
• Timing closure techniques
• Signal integrity and power integrity concepts
• Design rules and technology nodes (e.g., 7nm, 14nm, etc.)
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Tcl/Perl/Python.
• Knowledge of UPF/low-power design concepts is an added advantage.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
